Which Fans?

Go to solution Solved by WoodenMarker,

Use NF-P14s'. Have the h240x as exhaust and everything else as filtered intakes.

So, I'm going to be getting a Swiftech H240-X soon, and wanted to replace all my fans with Noctua Redux Fans. I was wondering which to get for what. I'll have to get 2 140MM for the H240-X, and one 140 for the exhaust. Or could I get away without an exhaust, by having the H240-X pull air through the radiator and out the case? I have a 200MM fan in the front for intake. Case is a Phanteks Enthoo Pro. What do you guys think?

Okay, just gonna double check here. So grab 2 NF-P14s', put them in exhaust on my H240-X, take out the rear exhaust, then just have the front 200MM as an intake?

Make the rear intake to better cool the motherboard and filter it. Yes, have the front as intake.

I've always wondered if that shows a noticeable difference in cooling performance.

Will it greatly increase dust intake if you don't currently have a dust filter to cover that spot?

It depends on how dusty the environment is.

in a room with someone who smokes lol. My front filter has to be cleaned like once a week.

Yes yes I know, I'm a horrible person for smoking near my computer. Not getting up and walking outside to smoke a cig.

The front filter would be a good example of how much dust would get in.

So....not doing that then, at least until I can get another filter lol.

If I do change the rear exhaust to intake, would it be worth it to replace the LED cougar fan with a spare noctua pressure optimized 140? I have all fans running at full blast anyways so I'm not sure it would make a huge difference.

You might as well grab a magnetic filter along with the fans. The rear fan doesn't need to be that powerful to cool the motherboard.
