not sure in what thread this should go but whats VGAs max resolution? to my knowledge "it has no max" since my friend has a CRT monitor thats 2048x1536

2048x1536 @85hz is exactly the maximum supported by vga.

 

well then why is there so much hate on VGA connectors? a lot of people would love to game at 1440p 60hz so why bash on 1536p at 85hz?

because it's analog, all kinds of problems with that. picture quality also depends on the cable and on the hardware in monitor because monitor draws itself and the input lag is massive.

also 1440p is more pixels than 2048x1536

they aren't as reliable as digital connectors. But for most people they are just fine.
