Looks good I would look at some r9 280s I don't think they are that much more expensive than that. I also would reccomend Intel over AMD for gaming but the 8 core for 130 ain't bad

so how significant would the difference be between the 270x and the 280

My recommendation @eLuminator:

 

The AM3+ platform has no upgrade path at this point going with Z97 would be much better especially because the 4460 performs a lot better in games.

Worth it, but I think the 280x is the sweet spot for 1080p gaming

An SSD would make it perfect, You won't regret spending the extra money...
