Hi guys,

So I recently got a razer deathadder and black widow, and i love the black widow. However, the sam cannot be said for the deathadder. It feels nice ergonomically but 50% of the time double clicks when I only want to single click. I've heard many people have the same issue, and I have since returned the deathadder. The thing I want to know is should I get another deathadder and hope I get a non-defective one, or go for another mouse such as the steel series sensei or rival? Suggestions for a better mouse? Also, my steel series qck+ mouse mat has a really strong rubber smell, will this go away?

Thanks!

I've had a death adder for 2-3 years now, no issues whatsoever, except the braiding had started to fray a bit, etc.

My DeathAdder mouse wheel started to squeak after about 1 year. I RMA'd it and recently started to experience what you described. I tried a different driver (USB Overdrive, for OS X) and the random double-clicking stopped. Unfortunately, USB Overdrive isn't as customizable as Synapse 2.0. Also, the double-clicking problem doesn't seem to occur on my brother's iMac, although I haven't spent that much time testing. I really want to like this mouse, but sometimes it drives me nuts.
