HELP! PLEASE! Gigabyte ga z77 d3h does not post with i5 2500k and crucial balistix sport memory

alexej1

Hey guys!

I´ve got a big Promblem with a mainboard, CPU and ram I just bought. I put the CPU in the Socket, all pins look ok, and put the ram and cooler on. I put all cables on. The Pc starts but I dont get any picture. What could be the reason for that?

My Configuration is the following

CPU - i5 2500K

Mainboard - Gigabyte GA-Z77-D3H

Ram - Crucial Balistix Sport Modell Nummer: BLS2CP4G3D1609DS1S00CEU

I would be happy, if somebody can help me.

Thanks in advance

Are you using a dedicated GPU or go over Intel's HD ?

I tried both. the dedicated GPU was an old Nvidia Geforce 7600 I had lying around.

they should all work together. have you tried using just on stick of ram at a time?

Now. I have done it, because you said it. and  with one stick it works. Now it says the bios was reset. After I confirmed the reset I was able to start the system and install windows. So I have to thank you all and esspecially you Jumper118. Now its time for some overclocking. Let´s have a look how much I can push the CPU. The guy who selled me the CPU said 4,5 GHz without Voltage increase are possible. Wish me luck.

its a little bit late I know. But here are my results with the 2500k. It was even better than the guy who selled me the cpu said: I got it to 4,6 GHz without any voltage increase. My Max overclock where 5,5 GHz with 1,53 V. It is stable and I got it pretty cool as well, beause I used an h100 with noctua industrial ppc fans. Nevertheless I don't want to run it on such a high clockspeed 24/7 and it is not meant to run under the h100. So I put it back down to 5 GHz and also put the voltage down. Now it is running with the configuration above an 128 gb ssd from crucial(dont know what model; got it pretty cheap on ebay) as well as an artic freezer and a gtx 780.

wow. that is an epic chip, 5.5ghz is very impressive B) . the highest i've had mine was 5.35ghz on 1.62v.

yes it is really impressive, but it isnt stable for a long time.

And i have got the same problem, I had at the beginning, now again. apparently it happens from time to time now

Is there anything I can do to prevent that?!
