last one guys i have installed all drivers but i can't get any sound over HDMI, GPU is 7770. windows sound just says "not plugged in", no warning in device manager.

Are you sure your monitor supports sound?  I know it sounds like a dumb question but had to ask.

Also make sure you have the latest drivers which are here - http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4672#dl

sorry for late reply, i have all the latest drivers installed. attached screenshot shows hdmi is in the software just showing as not connected.

What are you trying to get audio with?  What is it outputting from the pc to?

my monitor has speakers, i don't use my PC for games so much so good sound isn't an issue.

 

bascially my i3 and mobo died and i got the named board and 8350, now sounds isn't carried over HDMI like it did on the intel.

Set the Default Device for the sound to go through which would be your monitor with speakers.  Use that pull down menu.

just tried that still no sound.

Are you using a HMDI cable, silly question I know. DVI doesn't pass through sound.

yeah using a hdmi cable.

 

Updated drivers from device manager all is working
