Hi everyone!

First of all, English isn't my main language, sorry for the inconvenience.

I'm a young male who lives in Spain and its obsessed with hardware... but unfortunately I haven't enough money to fulfill my hobby; because of this, I'm the one who helps my friends on mounting their PCs xD

Anyway, recently I grabbed an SSD for Christmas vacation, an Kingston HyperX FURY 120GB, (the reason for this, is that the SSDNow V300 of 120GB was 3€ (~3'5$) cheaper, and for 3€ I wanted the 500/500MB/s read/write speeds) and I wanted to install it on the PC right away.

The thing is, I have a original copy of Win7, which came pre-installed on the HDD (swapped from my old PC) and, if possible, I don't want to re-install the OS in the SSD: I'm aware that is possible to swap from the old drive to the new one, but, is it worth the inconvenience?

If so, can someone explain me the steps to follow for swapping the OS from an HDD (with no partitions, btw, I know it's the worse thing I could have done, but, I had no time, and the OS came already installed, as I said) to a SSD, trying to avoid as much as possible data loses?

If, among all, we decide that what's better for me is to re-install the OS in the SSD, how do I make it without being it ilegal?

Sorry, again, for the inconvenience of the language and the possibly noobish questions.

Thanks a lot in advance!!

"English isn't my native language, sorry!" Speaks better English than most native English speakers.

According to Kingston, the drive came with software to move the OS from the HDD to the SSD.

Can I transfer data or OS from an existing HDD to a new SSD?

Yes. Kingston offers SSD drives in upgrade kits that include all the necessary items required to replace a notebook or desktop HDD with a Kingston solid-state drive, including software to easily transfer the OS and important data.

Kingston.

Kingston.

That, buddy, is 100% true, but for that feature you have to buy a specific pack of the brand SSDNow, with the software included, which I haven't.

Seems Kingston uses the Acronis software, which has a free trial and should be able to do what you need it to.
