If not, check if ur motherboard has hot-swap enabled in the BIOS and SATA power and data are plugged in

If you're in windows, hit winkey and search 'partition', you should find the virtual disk manager, and you should see it there, you probably have to assign it a drive letter for the OS to properly see it.

U checked that it is initialised (use Disk management) or that hot-swap is enabled in motherboard

Make sure all your cables are plugged in and if it's the secondary sata ports on your motherboard make sure the drivers are installed for that chipset. It should jut show up, right now it doesn't even recognize a drive is in place.

A little problem. Someway i can't get into the bios. cause it just say something about Clear CMos and press F1 to continue. and then it detect my ssd and power on.

But my keyboard is kinda wierd at the start. If i press F1. nothing happends. But if i press ( | ) the button beside 1. So my keys are switched at the start.

I dont understand how that works

Dont really know, prob about 300-500gb.

Check if by any chance you have plugged it into a sata 3 port instead of two and if maybe you used a sata 2 cable for a sata 3 port.

Or maybe even a a sata 3 cable plugged into a sata 2 port. (but I think sata 3 cables were backwards compatible)

some motherboard require you to turn on sata ports individual.

also in the bios you should be able to see the attached drives its not in the bios is dead or not connected correctly

Also make sure it works by listening to it insuring the drive is spinning if not it dead

....There is no such thing as a 'SATA 3' cable. that is the BIGGEST marketing scam I have ever heard of. SATA 1/2/3 cables are ALL the same pinout-wise.

You are right.

After a quick google that proved to be true.

But it still could be that the drive is plugged into a sata 3 port...

Not really, all of the buses are the same except for their max speeds. there'd be no drive incompatibility unless the firmware says so.

I've had that with an really old Samsung 160GB drive that I tried to attach to the sata 3 port and it simply wouldn't work.

Or I used the so called ''sata 3'' cable which apparently doesnt exist.
