Lenovo Flex 2 - Is it worth it?

How about an Intel Core i7-4510U 2.00GHz 4MB for the same price? Is it better?

It's a bit better per core, but honestly not much as it has less cores.  Lower power, though.

Hi guys,

I am looking to buy a new laptop and the Lenovo Flex 2 15" caught my interest.

Anyone has got any comment about this laptop in particular??

I am using it purely for school work and entertainment purpose.

This is the spec:

  • Up to AMD A8 processor
  • Windows 8.1
  • Up to AMD Radeon™ R5 graphics
  • Up to 8GB DDR3L memory
  • Up to 1TB HDD or 1TB hybrid SSHD with 8GB NAND cache or up to 256SSD storage
  • Up to 6 hours’ battery life
  • 15.6” FHD 10-point multitouch display (16:9 widescreen)
  • Starting at 2.3kg (5.1 lbs) / 25.8mm (1.0") thick

If its good, should I get the AMD or Intel processor for the laptop??

Thanks in advance for any replies!!!!

This sounds good enough for school.  Has an IPS monitor, the CPU is meh, but it's for MS word and Chrome, so it doesn't honestly matter.

Price seems fine at around $400 - $500.

8GB Ram is.. actually more than I'd expect for a laptop of this performance spec.
