I want to build a computer to get started I won't have the money for a year or 2 so that is why I am asking so in the long run I can get the core i7

The socket will change in 2 years, so if you want to buy at that time, then no motherboard will support the then-new i7. You'd have to buy the then-old i7 for the current CPU. If you really want to put in an i7, let me swap a few things around first.

That would be what I would do if you plan on changing CPUs down the road. It's outside your current price range now though and has no practical benefit over the earlier cheaper build at the time of purchase.

People keep saying that, but I was under the impression that Intel was going to skip a broadwell release for the desktop CPUs and limit broadwell to just mobile CPUs.

Would I be able to use a slightly lower end processor because I don't like using the rebates and stuff.

I don't know what youre looking at. Everything I posted in this thread had rebates turned off. The one with the H97 board did cost $280, which was $30 over your budget, but as I said that's not necessary, but the first one, the H81 board, was right on budget with no rebates.
