400w Sufficient?

Should I go with the M12II Evo 620w? It's 80+ Bronze but it's cables are all black so that's nice aesthetically. The G-550 is more expensive that the Evo 620w though but it's 80+ Gold and 100w less.

M12II is good. Bronze rating is not a big deal, only real difference is slitghly more power use from the wall.

Is the Seasonic X-400FL 80+ Platinum sufficient for the following build?

 


CPU: Intel Core i7-5820K 3.3GHz 6-Core Processor 

CPU Cooler: Corsair H60 54.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler 

Motherboard: MSI X99S SLI Plus ATX LGA2011-3 Motherboard 

Memory: Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR4-2400 Memory  

Memory: Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR4-2400 Memory 

Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive  

Video Card: Asus GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB Video Card  

Case: Fractal Design Define R4 w/Window (Black Pearl) ATX Mid Tower Case 


 

The 400FL was the choice since the 750 Ti does not consume power and my friend wants silence. Take note that the 400FL is Fanless (thus "FL").

 

Other options would be the Seasonic M12II 520w 80+ Bronze and the Seasonic G-550 80+ Gold.

Yes. But you won't have an upgrade path and with that cpu not having an upgrade path is just wrong.

Yeah it should be sufficient. The GPU isn't that power hungry.

Btw if your friend wanted silence the H60 would be the wrong choice and you dont need to get a silent psu since theres many psu's that are barely audible even under load and in idle dont even run their fan.

Yes, definitely, but you will have to buy a new PSU along with a new GPU if you plan to upgrade with a a more performance grade GPU, So i should recommend you go for a 500 or 550 watts just in case , if you're planning for an upgrade in a year or so.. it's the least you can buy something under 700 watts mark if you desire..

Nvidia is to Dr Dre Beets as AMD is to KFC.

One makes you broke, the other you can get more of and have a midnight snack from the fridge when hungry again. Once you go Nvidia, you go broked, turn into an Elitist, or get the incorrect amount of VRAM.

Yes its better than the 750Ti but if this pc is gonna be used for gaming i'd recommend atleast a 970. If you have the money for X99 get a decent GPU pls.

Thanks! 270x it is. I believe this won't be used for gaming though. But a better GPU would be a better GPU.

Please remember the H60 isn't very silent... and it has the added pump noise. Get NH-D14 or similar if possible.
