MSI's and Asus' do, I believe.

Gigabyte G1, Strix has one I believe & i think MSI, zotac has them too i believe.

I checked out Google images pics for the MSI and it didn't show a backplate, the others look good the Gigabyte G1 and STRIX are both more expensive than the MSI tho.

The Gigabyte G1 looks like the best option it's only a small bit more expensive than the MSI and it has the best I/O layout of any 970.

Only the MSI Golden Edition and Million Edition cards have backplates for MSI, not the Gaming 4G. There is also the Asus STRIX, G1 Gaming and some more as others pointed out like from GALAX.

Yeah it's disappointing about the 4G not having a backplate. The G1 seems to the best of the lineup before you start paying a lot more.

Strix, G1, EXOC Black Edition, FTW+, Amp! Extreme, Amp! Omega, Golden Edition etc.

Theres more, but my brain is elsewhere at the moment. Just browse around until you find one you like aesthetically. The 970s are great cards.

Yeah it is quite annoying, especially because it looks very nice! I'm still gonna get it though, although it's little over my budget atm. However, it does have some sort of reinforcement (not as much as a backplate) but on the other side of the PCB I think as you can see below.
