Folding @ Home Android client is currently in beta and only supports Xperia Z series, In the future they will add support withdevice running Android 4.4 system and above.

This is super cool, however the major caveat would be the impact on your battery.  Running FAH on a phone could seriously ruin your battery life and health.

I agree, if only smartphones could run when plugged in like laptops.  :lol:

Laptops avoid charging battery when plugged in, that is what I mean.

Do they really? Because my laptop gave me a warning the other day that leaving it plugged in all the time is hazardous to the battery's health.

My fathers new dell and my dell 11 3000 both stop charging when full. It just goes down slightly because of stuff, but my fathers dell is set to not charge until it reaches 80% since it's always plugged, while mine is set to 90%. And it does say "plugged in, not charging" when full battery.

oh weird.  I have mine set to charge all the time, because otherwise my GPU can't reach max capacity.
