Problem with CM12 Nightly Build Installation Please Help!

Hi, I'm new here, I mostly post in Mobile Devices, but I figured this question doesn't belong there.

So yesterday for the first time I unlocked my bootloader and flashed the January 11th CyanogenMod 12 Nightly for the OnePlus One (bacon). I installed the TWRP custom recovery and everything is working! I downloaded an app called CyanDelta and it allows me to download the latest nightly (this one being Jan. 12th nightly) CM12 on my phone. I was wondering- do I need to completely wipe everything again if I were to flash the new one? I'd rather not, but I will if I have too. Looking for some clarification.

No, you should be able to "dirty flash" the new ROM, as it is called. Make a backup in TWRP recovery in case though, you wouldn't want to lose everything.

Remember, Nightlies aren't meant for daily use, and can contain nasty glitches and bugs.

Yeah, I thought that too, but nope. A dirty flash of cm12 from cm11 didn't work for me (hammerhead). It booted but everything was crashing.

As for the glitches thing, hells yeah. I've found that sometimes the nighties are quite stable, but for cm12 I have a massive battery drain bug from "miscellaneous". I looked it up and it appears to be extremely frequent wakeup events being made whenever connected to wifi, though, the bug was discovered in the snapshot builds ages ago and fixed, so I don't know what it's doing in cm's tree.

That's because you went from 4.4.4 to 5.0. If you go from one CM12 version to another, you should be fine.
