Arma 3

legend8887

Arma 3 is a very highly rated game. Is it because of its realism? I tried it out when there was a free demo but had a bad experience because my hardware wasn't efficient enough. I have a sudden interest in it and I'm wondering if it's worth the $60 price tag.

Great game, I play for realism, and the great gameplay.

And the Mods.

Recommend if you have enough power to drive.

I would say pick it up when it goes on sale for $30 if you are really interested in the gameplay it offers.

Eh, i'd try it at a local lan place or friends house. It is worth a lot more than 60 bucks for the right audience, but for most it is a bit of a waste probably.

It's an excellent game

But it runs like the worst piece of crap ever. My 980 requires some settings reduction, even with a 5820k OC'd to 4.1GHz.

I get like 40 FPS Graphics at Max (View distance higher than it probably should be) on mine with abunch of mods in a city on my 980, so you should be fine.

May I ask what your CPU is? It's a very CPU bound game.

Edit: Check you profile, you should be fine. (Our builds are very similar :)

Turn your view distance off of Maximum, I lowered mine to about 5 Thousand and it's really smooth!

Should be fine. I have a similar build.

Pretty much the same*

Yes you should buy it but when it goes on sale for $30. Also make sure you can run it.

When it's on sale. It's a good game, you just need to find out what settings work for you. Even at 5760x1080 it runs fairly well (with some minor alterations to settings). Btw if you use three monitors you can get a bit of an odd advantage by being able to look down the sides of hills without being anywhere near the edge because of the way the FOV works lol.
