Laptop/desktop

ok so i was wondering would it be possible to put a laptop charger inside a desktop and so if the power goes out its their as a fail safe

I think what you want is a UPS, the laptop charger would not do anything to keep the system working if the power goes out.

I think you mean a laptop battery. It is theoretically possible but you will have to do some crazy wiring and soldering and it would most likely only give like 1-10min of extra life.

There is no point putting a laptop battery in there it would probably provide all the wrong voltages, would not ground the pc which is essential for a Desktop and would not give nearly enough power. You may as well just forget it.

Laptop battery? possible... but here is the thing...

A laptop battery is designed for a laptop of about 90W? Your PC is over 150-200W easy., at idle.

A gaming laptop.. a system that uses low power components from A to Z, have about 45min of battery life?

 

Basically, what I am expecting is barely have enough time to shutdown your computer. Not really worth it. UPS will get you time to finish what you are doing, save your work/game, and shut down your system.
