I just bought a Galax GTX 970 Hall of Fame edition and just installed it, was working fine, benchmarked it (stock) half way through it went black screen. Now everytime I start the computer up/restart, it would get to the loading windows part and would go black screen again. (same if I try to go into the bios, would open bios for 1 second then go black screen)

Try resetting the computer. Otherwise try to startup in safemode and do a driver sweep. For the nvidea drivers.

Curious, is your GPU overclocked? If it is open your program of choice and set it back to default.

Depends on store return policy them may just forward him to RMA the card in which case most stores do.
