Is a gtx 970 enough for 1440p?

cooperb21

I just got a gtx 970 g1 gaming and now im thinking of going to 1440p.  Will it be fine? I dont mind turning back a few settings that are not need like i dont think ill neeed any AA and such.

Also one thing im worried about is how much more do you need to upgrade if you have 1440p since it will take more to run as games get new and newer. I usually do every 2 years.

Yes it will

It won't max out every game at 60fps, although it will handle a lot of games at 60fps, especially if you're willing to turn a few settings down a bit.

Do also keep in mind that you can overclock a 970 quite a lot.

Thanks what settings do you suggest turning down first? I assume things like Physx, MSAA or AA? Then actual graphical details if needed?

It'll easily run 1440p. I'd advise just trying it out on max settings and reducing the settings until you find a good middle ground of settings and performance.

My arsenal: i7-9700k Gaming Rig, an iPhone, and Stupidity.

Not imo, plus a single 970 won't drive 1440 @ 144hz (or anywhere close anyway)

I prefer to turn AA to a lower setting first when running at 1440p, after of course disabling any depth of field or motion blur. at 1440p aliasing is slightly less obvious to my eyes.

also I have the PB278Q you mentioned. I love it myself. I can't speak for Gsync, but I find TN to be a dealbreaker.

Thanks also should i notice any more lag in gaming right now i have asus vg248qe at 144hz. or do things like 1ms vs 5ms not matter much.

Right now i dont get 144fps in most modern good looking games any way.

Yea and cheapest rog swift is 878$

wtf 4k gsync cheaper than 1440p 144hz gsync

http://www.ncix.com/detail/acer-xb280hk-bprz-28in-4k2k-ce-103792-1315.htm?affiliateid=7474144

why

4k gsync monitors are only 60hz vs. 1440ps which are 144hz.
