Duel monitor setup trouble cant change monitor number

Silentghost14

So i am having problems with my duel screen setup on my windows 7 pc with a radeon graphics card. My monitor numbers are backwards i have tired everything i can think of to switch them correctly to no avail. It seems that windows and catalyst control center are opposite to each other as to which monitor is my primary but i don't know how to fix this. If anyone could help me out it would appreciated.

Things i have tired

1. Switching the cables
2. In amd catalyst control center changeing the monitor arangement
3. In windows changing the monitor arangement

Anyone have any ideas?

Let me get you , you have set up one of your monitors as primary in the windows resolution menu ( right click desktop ) , but it doesn't change the icons to the main monitor  ?

Whats happening is whenever i change whatever monitor is my primary because both windows and catalyst control center think the opposite monitor is the primary they both flip flop each other just staying the same.

can you not drag and move your monitor to the position you want in the software?

I can but the other software overwrites it.

This might take a while, but what if for example ... uninstall the Radeon driver and set the windows settings to the way it was with the Radeon driver (to try and match the drivers together) .... once finished, reinstall the Radeon driver.

lol, I'm not sure haha, but that's what came to mind right now during this boring class

My monitor #2 is my main, and #1 is my secondary.  What is the problem?

he's saying that he can't identify monitor 1 and 2 as the Radeon driver and windows preference are referring them as opposites

Same with me.  Catalyst shows my main as 1, windows shows my main as 2.

No problem.  Control your OCD and all is good. ;)

I want to be able to set my primary monitor to my first monitor on both windows and catalyst control center but both software thinks the opposite monitor is the main and swaps when i change it in either software.

O C D

Just kidding around.  I would like a fix too, but I got used to it.

Well its just annoying when certain games detect what monitor is number one and its not the right one.

Games ALWAYS go to my main.  My main is #2 on windows, and #1 on Catalyst.  If you select your windows "Main" display, it should not matter what number it identifies.
