Hi all,

I am looking to upgrade my GPU from a 650Ti to a 770.  I wanted a 4GB 770, although this is not my highest priority.  I have been looking everywhere to find the reference design card, but I cannot seem to find it anywhere!  I want the reference design purely due to aesthetics.

Would buying a 4GB version be better than buying a 2GB version if I am running two monitors?  Is there anywhere in the UK where I can pick up a reference design card?

Many thanks

There is no advantage for having 4GB card if you're playing games on a single 1080p monitor. In fact it'll hurt the performance since it can't utilize all of the VRAM it has. If amazon or scan doesn't have a 770 with the reference cooler, then I'd say it's safe to assume there isn't any.

Edit. Found it http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-015-IN

I guess you mean reference as in the titan style cooler?

In UK last time I checked the only brand you could get was inno3d.

It costs a lot more than cards with much better coolers though. (comapratively)

I mean if you look at ocuk there you can get an entirely custom cooler from msi for £20 less or add £40 to get an entirely custom PCB design and beefed up version of the previously mentioned cooler.

I think its really the aesthetics. it looks really nice. I want it. (even though I'm going to do a water cooled gpu anyway XD)

Well if that's the case you should look for a brand that lets you keep the warranty when you change the cooler.

If you're in the UK, that means EVGA, Gainward (only if you buy from OcUK),

gigabyte and msi (if you put the stock one back on if anything goes wrong and don't mention it)

I really want the 780, but its so damn expensive T_T

I might just live off the intel hd graphics till I save up enough cash to get a 780. do you guys think its worth it? or should I just get the 770

I actually managed to play torchlight on my sandybride mobile! (First torchlight mind you, in a staggering 480p)

totally worth using intel graphics.

Stuff I have I like: Moto G - Superlux HD681 Evo - Monoprice 9927

90% of what I say is sarcasm.

Well, the 770 is better performance for money, and the HUGE price gap isn't worth it.  I would go with a 770, and if you want to upgrade in the future, just get another one and run them in SLI  ;)
