New to Destiny, need help

Hi guys, so I've recently picked up Destiny and I've been playing since Friday and reached level 23. At this point I'm told to play Crucible or Strike Mission to get Crucible/Vangard Marks for legendary equip, I don't mind doing those but it's going to take awhile I rather do loot caves (have yet to find one) anyone know any good loot caves? or advice to give me? Thanks I look forward hearing from you guys.
