Surround Gaming with VGA

Hello all, I have big doubt that would appreciate some help with.

I currently have 3x 22 inch 1080 lcd monitors. The downside of these monitors is that they only have a VGA connection.

I am planing to buy a gaming rig with an Nvidia GTX970.

So the card comes with:

》1xDVI-I port (can be adapt to VGA).

》1xHDMI port (can be adapt to VGA).

》1xDisplayPort (can be adapt to VGA).

》1xDVI-D (cannot be adapt to VGA).

Their website says that supports a maximum of 4 monitors.

Does anybody know for sure if with this setup I will be able to play "surroud gaming" @ 1080? Or maybe if I will definitely not be able.

HDMI can't be adapted to VGA without a signal converter, same thing with DisplayPort and DVI-D. You should be able to configure them in surround if you can get them working, but I haven't tried personally.

you need an active coverter for the HDMI and DVI-D and displayport

Can you please explain the term "active"?

I understand that it probably means some kind of circuitry in the middle to help with the conversion of the signal, but is it really necessary and does it improve anything?

 

Would you recommend different cables or converters? Why?

I like the 10 feet (at least) cables for proper cable management and not to limit the position of my case.

There fake. VGA is analog and HDMi Is digital. Theres no way that cable will work. Get this:
