Hello guys,

I'm DutchRedGaming and I don't want play on my laptop a.k.a. potato.

I was searching on a Dutch site like LinusTechTips, but I need more advise and tips form people out other countries than Netherlands and Belguim.

That's the reason that all the prizes are in Euros, I'm sorry for that.

I want gaming like Battlefield 4, Battlefield 3, GTA V, Mirror's Age, Battlefield Hardline, Payday 1, CS:GO, Euro Truck Simulator 2, Garry's mod, Heroes and Generals, Simcity 5, The sims 3 (and maby 4). I want to future proof, that means that I don't wat upgrade in the first 4 years. I do like youtube as Hobby as Gaming channel. I don't get money for Youtube. I want to start streaming on Twitch as hobby. My targetprice is €900/€925. Later in this year I want to buy a monitor, but that is for the future!

Here are the specs what the community of Tweakers said:

CPU: I5 4460

GPU: ASUS Strix GTX 970 4GB

Case: Corsair Carbide SPEC-02 Red Led

RAM: 8 GB Crucial Ballistix Tactical BLT2C4G3D1608ET3LX0CEU

SSD: Crucial MX100 256GB

HDD: WD Blue WD10EZEX, 1TB

PSU: Seasonic S12II-Bronze 520W

Why you take an I5? I7 is better?

Because not all I7 is better than I5 (Linus his vid

Why no SLI motherboard? 2 GPU is always better!

I think in the time I want buy second GTX 970, that a better GPU on the market is and more handle than 2x GTX 970 in that time. I need than bigger PSU.

Why 520W? You need more Wattage!

Community of Tweakers said that 520 enough is for the build that I need. I saw that my PC 480 Watt need. They said that 90% best is for a pc (with no upgrade).

I have some question:

I want build it self. I saw on the internet it's easy, but I get almost everyday a shock. What can I do against static electricity? Must I buy a bangle to deliver electricity?

This is my first build and I don't make mistakes.

Your build is looking solid for the price range.

You should get your hands on an anti-static wrist thingy. It's a small cord basically which you ground. This ensures that you're not going to shock any of the parts you work with.

EDIT: IIRC a new mx200 ssd was just announced at CES, you might want to take a look at that.

When in doubt: C4

Your build is fine.

To avoid static you first get shocked then build. Touch big metal objects, your case, your pipes. Don't build on a carpet and don't run before touching your components. You will be fine, it's really hard to kill something with ESD and it's mostly an urban legend now.

What for pipes do you mean?

your heating pipes in the house, it's just an example, you say you get shocked, so touch the things that shock you.

Most radiator pipes are grounded as far as i know, but i'm not quite sure. So yeah, you basically connect yourself with something which grounds you. Like touching the metal edge of a trampoline. You feel a shock because the metal grounds you. It's a shock like this which kills your components.

I get hard shocks of my TV, is that good mark to start the build after the shock?

I want build on my wooden table and ground by the way

if you want to futureproof it then what m/board are you planning on getting? as its the most important thing to look at a long term build and so make sure its got the most advanced and fastest interfaces you can afford and don't skimp out on a m/board its the backbone to the system.

also you have to think of the size (form factor) and what you plan to do with it etc. that GPU is a very good start and will be good for what you need and if you want more performance you can always upgrade later date and go sli, so then that is the next step to think about, your PSU how much power you need and do you need to another gpu at a later date etc. work all these things out first before buying...

got to love Asus components

My m/board will be Gigabyte G1.Sniper B5, It's ATX and have only Crossfire. I don't know that 2 GPU worth it if I would to upgrade.

I have chosen for 520W and I saw by PC picker that I use 390 Watt, but other website says that I need 490 Watt. Is 520 Watt enough?

Yeey another build that is perfect from the start. Go dutchies :). Nice build have fun and you can ground yourself by touching the heating also working on a wood table is smart. Where are you ordering?

I use Tweakers to search good parts (see topic). I want ordering by cheapest, I use Tweakers to see the cheapest and good shops to buy the parts.

About Static electricity would I contact you by PM, because it's my first build and I don't waste my money.

Thanks for the feedback :D

You should watch the Asus Strix 970 video by TastyPC on utube, she shows it in SLi and its amazing performance, so if your going for an ATX m/board and a single 970 i would get a m/board that supports true sli & crossfire.

you say your m/board will be, does that mean you have it yet? there is so many options to consider.

a 550w is good, but if you want to go sli later on and not change the psu then a 650 would be better option

got to love Asus components

here you go...

I don't know, because I love more FPS, but in the time in upgrade (in 2-4 years or something) can I better buy a better GPU.

I must think about this.

Edit:

What is better PSU fan up or down?

Is I5 4460 enough for livestreaming on twitch? I want stream csgo, bf4, bf3 and maybe euro truck simulator 2

Im pretty sure you'll be fine, csgo and truck sim wont be a problem for sure.

And if you setup correctly and use nvidia nvenc or intel quicksync for the encoding you'll be fine.

I used shadowplay streaming in League without a problem and the performance impact in bf3 when recording was neglectable too.

What is the case? Also is it standing on a carpet or a solid floor like wood or tiles? If on a carpet then with the fan to the bottom the carpet might restrict airflow to the PSU and kill it and with that kill your PC, which is not good. If it is a solid floor I would put it bottoms down as it gives a closed loop so it gets fresh air at all times and you just have to worry about the GPU and the case fans for getting positive pressure.
