Hey everyone,

So I'm nearing the end of my build and just wanted to make sure I didn't mess up my choice of RAM...

Case: Corsair Graphite Series 780T
Motherboard: Asus P9X79 WS
Processor: Intel i7-3930K

Heat Sink: Corsair Hydro Series H100i (Replacing stock fans with 2 x Corsair Air Series SP120)
Hard Drive: Samsung 850 Pro SSD

RAM: 4 x 8GB G.Skill Trident X Series DDR3 2400 (PC3 19200)
Power Supply: Fractal Design Tesla R2

Video Card: Evga GTX 980

Is my choice of RAM compatible with this build? I was watching some builds and doing some research and I'm hearing that some people are having issues with 2400Mhz RAM in an X79 build... Is this true? I just want to double check since it's not too late to cancel my order for the RAM and just purchase another.

Thanks for the help

It will most likely be fine. And ram speeds generally don't affect performance that will be noticable so I would go with a slower speed one. And also, what are you going to be needing 32gb of ram for? Will you be doing a lot of 3D rendering and stuff or just gaming and some simple browsing etc. 8gb is fine if you are just doing gaming and 16gb is good for gaming and some rendering.

if it doesnt work you can always use the ram at a lower speed like 1600 or 1866 or whatever works

you wont notice any performance difference

Yes, though I'd go for 1600MHz as there is not much of a noticeable difference.
