So my ISP is comcast and I just bought a new router. Now my ping is higher than it was before. Is my router, ny isp, or my wifi card in my pc to blame. BTW I did cheap out on my wifi card but it worked fine before

I know my name is bad I made it not thinking I would use it. Just call me dogenut...

What is your ping currently at and what was it previously at?

At a command prompt, can you try:

tracert www.google.com

and paste the results?

wifi

Just to reiterate what's been said 10 trillion times before, if you want a better connection use ethernet.

Assuming that you've already been told that you could try switching to a faster service provider. Comcast is probably the worst company in America right now and unless you've got their business grade package then they're nothing great.

Also of note is that when you're playing stuff like CS:GO your distance to the server is usually the limiting factor. Playing on community servers hosted halfway around the world is possible but it's gonna be slow.

May your framertes be high and your remperatures low.

As the first jump is 1ms which is standard, it does look like it's the ISP.

Could try wiring the computer up though and see if it's still a big issue
