I just installed 2 980's and they are sagging due to there weight. They are at a noticeable angle, will this damage the card or motherboard?

I'd say no.

My 670 sagged like a bitch and never had any issues.

If they're sagging tell them they're not gangsters and that they should pull their pants up

You can assist the cards by pushing upwards on them while installing the screws. Instead of letting the cards hang, push upwards and install the bottom screw, then the top screw.

You didn't specify whether or not they're the G1 models. The G1s feature a backplate that helps to reduce sagging.

I bought mine back in October when they first come out.

Straight out of the box there was a slight bend in the PCB/Backplate so the card did sag, nothing I could do about it.

It was more noticable when the card was in the machine.

Card died 3 days ago, I can't say if it had anything to do with the slight sag/bend, but I got 70 hours of Dragon Age Inquisition in a day before it died with no signs of the card dying.

Interesting, but most longer card sag a bit and some a bit more. Usually that´s not a problem. And the GTX980 with a backplate shouldn´t bend too much. I guess I´m lucky with my 3way SLI cause the cards support each other lol.
