Looking for new Monitor(s)

Hello, my current displays are not of very good quality, and i am looking for a new one of better quality.

However, i need this monitor to be vesa mount compatible, and i would prefer it to be ips.

 

System Specs:

CPU: AMD fx6300 (soon to be 8350)

Cooling: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo

GPU: Superclocked GTX 970

Mobo: GIGABYTE 990fxa-ud5

PSU: Corsair cx500 (500 watt)

RAM: 8gb HyperX Fury 1600mhz

Case: Fractal Design Arc XL

 

What monitor would be good for my PC?  Should i get a 144hz or 120hz monitor, or just buy a good 60hz monitor?

 

I would like to not spend more than $500

I am talking about US dollars, and the system is for gaming.
