Overclock selectively crashing?

Go to solution Solved by mezacon,

probably

I think I fixed it! woo!

Re-installed bios, then cleared cmos then added 0.05 voltage to cpu and bam running prime95 two winrar jobs and never passed 117F (47c)!

The problem: Cpu crashing sometimes when using adobe after effects or winrar. Only does this when overclocked

Doesn't crash in prime95, benchmarks, handbrake etc...

It's probably not ram, I ram memtest overnight and nothing showed up

Hardware:

Cpu: fx-8320 @4.4ghz

Mobo: Asus m5a97 r.20

Psu: evga 750b (bronze)

Cooler: nh-d14 (running cool, don't worry)

Settings:

ratio: 22

Cpu voltage: 1.300v

Cpu/nb voltage: 1.262v

Vdda voltage:2.2v

turbo core: disabled

cpu bus frequency: 200

Cpu/nb frequency: 2200mhz

Ht link speed: 2400mhz

Cpu spread spectrum: Disabled

Epu power saving mode: Disabled

Cpu LLC: Enabled

Cpu/nb LLC: Auto

Core c6 state: disabled

Hpc mode: enabled

Apm master mode: Disabled

Help? Suggestions?

Heard others reaching higher with this cpu/mobo combo, unless I just lost the silicone lottery and didn't get one of the lucky ones.
