I'm upgrading my system with a custom loop but am confused as to where the kill coil is supposed to sit. Do you just drop it into your reservoir and be done with it? Just worried about it finding its way into my system and causing a restriction somewhere.

Thanks for your advice, any helps :)

Most people place it in their res because of easy access, but I've seen enough people putting it in their tubing. Though very unlikely to happen, try to prevent it from moving around in your loop. If it gets stuck in a block, it could kill flow, and if it got stuck in your pump, it could kill the pump. @MayorPotatoSalad

As danixdlolz said, just place it in the res and make sure it does not go into the loop
