So I am working on a old Dell Insprion 530 from 2004. Anyway today it just would not go past the boot splash screen. I did some research

and I replaced the HDD Sata cable with a newer one from a asus motherboad I took the battery for the cmos out it read 3.1 volts. After that

I plugged it back in then powered on the system. After waiting for about 3 mins. It took me to a black screen with (diskette drive 0 seek failure F1 to

continue or F2 for setup) I went into setup checked every thing it looked good the I exited it booted to windows. Tried restarting it again to test to I'm back to being

stuck on the splash screen.

If anyone could help that would be great.

I tried booting from a usb that I have with windows still nothing.

Just locked up on the bios splash screen

are you able to go into BIOS and load the default settings?

also disable the floppy disk detection

Nope just wont let me past that splash screen to the bios settings. Only once and I'm not sure how to duplicate that again

do what you did by removing the battery with the system unplugged

leave it for a few mins and put the battery back and plug in the power and power on mashing the del key to get into BIOS
