freezing problem

Hey, my computer has started to act weirdly, and by that I mean that programs freezes inside of windows while the explorer itself never freezes. It can be while I'm on chrome or just on spotify, but never while gaming. I want to know what the problem might be before I buy something new!

Specs:

AMD FX 6300

GTX 770

Samsung EVO 120 SSD

A random 2tb harddrive

Ballistix Tactical tracer 8gb RAM

850W Power supply from Corsair

Are any of your components overclocked?  Have you tested that psu with a multimeter? Do you have any extra components you can use to test out your computer?

Hmmm you say it never happens while gaming eh so maybe your browser or browsers are infected with some sort of malware/virus.  Have you done anything yet to check that?  If so run your pc in safe mode with no connection to the internet and then run the anti-spyware, anti-malware and anti-virus software there.
