Today I received my h100i for my 4690k and installed it according to the manual in my 300r(windowed).

I ran intel burn test, which I know gets temps high. I am running 4.5 ghz at 1.19v as usual for my cpu. My temps were around 86 degrees! I know that isn't terrible for intel burn test but it is FAR higher than my arctic freezer13 was.

Corsair link shows water temps at only 26 degrees. I felt the tubes and there was no difference in temperature between them but they were vibrating, but I cannot be sure this was from the pump and not something else.

Any ideas? Do I have a faulty pump or have I installed it incorrectly?

Did you put thermal paste on correctly

Did you Make sure it is seated properly and tightened correctly.

Is the Pump working? Did you connect the cables correctly so it has power.

Dumb question but i've seen some cases around here. Did you remove the plastic from the waterblock?

Other than that, try the usual methods:

-Check for thermal paste to be applied correctly. I recommend using an aftermarket one.(Arctic Silver 5, Arctic MX-4, Noctua NT-H1 etc.)

-Check if the waterblock is mount correctly, the backplate and screws being properly tensioned.

-The pump is stupidly quiet, both on H80i and H100i, so the only way to check it is to look in the Corsair Link software, or in HWMonitor if you plugged the pump data read connector(the 3pin, usual fan connector) and see the RPMs...

Using included thermal compound. Although I have some arctic silver 5 on my desk.

All cables are connected and corsair link shows pump at 2234rpm

I might try reseating it with some arctic silver

Yes my backplate was loose when I installed but is not now loose, I will have a look at o-ring fixes.

Didn't H100i come with its own backplate?

I know for sure it should have, because my H80i had one in the box,and since it's basically the same product(just rad sizes differ, pumps and mounting are the same) i think it did.

I took off the cooler and installed some o-rings to the backplate, wiped cpu and cooler with isopropyll alcohol and reseated it with some arctic silver 5. My cpu temps went down to 62 degrees. This is much better for my 4690k at 1.19v. Is this an average temperature you would expect to see with my cpu at this voltage with this cooler?
