Hi

I am planning to purchase an assembled PC next week. I have been watching some videos posted by linustechtips on youtube related to hardware components.

I am a bit worried about the the correct wattage of power supply needed for a PC with the following configuration. The shopkeeper says 500 watts cooler master thunder . Could somebody please answer if it is ideal for good overall performance.

Motherboard - ASUS Z97-A .

RAM - Kingston Hyperx DDR3 1600 or 1800 or 2100 MHZ 2 x 8 GB = 16 GB

PowerSupply -CM THUNDER 500W SMPS

Cabinet - Cooler Master 311 CABINET

Harddisk - 500 GB Seagate Barracuda ST500DM002 3.5 inch 7200 RPM

CPU cooler - Cool Master Hyper 212 EVO Cooler

Cabinet Fans - Cooler Master. 2 FANS

Optical drive - Samsung

Monitor - 19 or 20 inch LED dell monitor

As you haven't listed a GPU I'm going to assume you don't have one.

If so, than a 500W is fine for your build. (Pretty sure even with a Nvidia GPU a 500W PSU would still work)

If the store says the PSU is in the system, you would assume that it would be compatible.
