hey guys i'm new here.

I just bought a i5 4460 and for the moment i'm using my onboard intel hd 4600 graphic card.So for a few days everything was good and in the last 2 days i've been having this black screens..

Until now it happend only when i was playing games and it's a 1 second black screen just like when i would alt tab out from a game..i get no error and nothing happens just goes black then back to normal.I've been also having this running out of memory errors with 4gb rams that i just got playing league of legends but 1 week ago when i was playing on my last cpu G540 at 2.5 on that onboard graphic card with 4 gb at 1333 i was never getting run out of memory..don't know why i get it with the new 4 gb 1600 mhz rams..does the hd 4600 consume more rams than the hd graphics from a celeron G540 ?thats what i'm thinking

But the main problem i have is the black screens..i don't know what or why they happen,i get like from 5 to 10 all day so not really frecvent but still i'm worried..sry for my english.

thanks

Did you lower your Paging file?

Your running low on memory because your using the Integrated GPU which uses your RAM. Try to Increase your Paging Pool and see if it helps Or/And Go into your BIOS and look around for Shared Memory and your Intergrated GPU memory allowed.

Start > Right Click Computer > Properties > Advanced > Performance Settings > Advanced > Change.

Check the BIOS for shared memory. I wonder if upgrading the CPU reset that, if you ever modified it.

well when i changed my cpu i did change my motherboard as well.

In your previous motherboard, did you ever mess with the BIOS?

no i didn't.

Like 1 month ago i had celeron G540 and a hd 7750 + 4 gb 1333mhz

then my gpu broke so i was left with my intel hd graphics from g540 so i decided to upgrade my cpu to a i5 4460 and for that i changed my motherboard as well.

Now i have i5 4460 + 4 gb 1600mhz because the motherboard doesn't support 1333..

is this it from bios ?

Total memory : 4096MB with 256mb shared memory and 2 mb gtt memory single-channel memory mode

is this what i should've been looking for ?

my paging file size is 1000mb on drive C,none on D

How long did you use the G540's integrated graphics? If you can, increase your shared memory.

can windows update? go to their site and see. but be prepared for the worst.

Microsoft doesn't use a site anymore for updates. It's now an application.

well i did a bunch of updates but it didn't do anything, actually it made it worst at least in a game i played now i got like 4-5 times the black screen...anyone has any idea why ?

This might be irrelevant, but in the game itself, what are the graphical settings you are using?

This thing here: http://forums.euw.leagueoflegends.com/board/attachment.php?attachmentid=146552&d=1381449116

Also, in the resolution, is there an asterix (*) next to it? if not, try to set it back to the resolution with the * in it.

I'm just guessing, but it may help...

EDIT: You don't have to play a real game to test it out, just go into a custom for the test.

well i'm playing both games on 720p(that is league and metal gear rising:revengence)in this games i got the black screen, never just staying in desktop or watching stream/videos.i play with everything on very low and fullscreen on 720p for better fps.

#the only resolution the (*)shows up is 1080p.fps will be lower but i'm gonna play a few games to see if it happens

Can you take a screenshot of the graphical settings you have? It might help.

i have everything on low with everything disabled.but i'm not 100% sure but i think the problems only started when i changed this setting from a post on reddit.

http://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/2qydic/simple_fps_boost_on_laptops_or_low_end_computers/

i'll try and play with everything on like it used to maybe this is it..but i don't know. today i played on 1080p and i had only 1 black screen and it was much more fast like not even 1 second..i still have the settings to 0 from the post above.

Honestly, I'd undo everything in that reddit post. Changing the graphical properties to performance without the "tools" for it might be the cause behind the black screens. Just put it back to normal and you should be fine. I would also not mess with the game files themselves if you don't know specifically what it does, but in this case, it might be ok... Try it out and tell me the result.

P.S. Also, don't cap your frame rate if you do. It has not helped in my experience.

i deleted the config and played with a default one but it doesn't matter i still get the black screens, tho on 1920x1080 are less often and are shorter but i still get them...

Did you also undo the graphical settings suggested in the first part of that reddit post?
