Internet getting slower

I don't know if this belongs here but I will ask anyway.

So lately my internet is getting slow at random times, like when I watch a video it won't load the video. So my question I have a d-link DIR-615 v3 and is it neccesary to upgrade to a WDR-4300 because I have a download of 100 mpbs and I think the DIR-615 can't handle it !!

And BTW the DIR-615 that i have is realy old, so its not a new one

Your DIR-615 is a 300Mbps N router. Even if your computer has half signal strength, you should be getting full speed.

 

Unless the internet in your area is oversubscribed, or your ISP is throttling your speed.

So upgradig won't change anything?

And the router is maybe like 10 years old
