Can you use a fm2 based CPU on a fm2+ motherboard?

Yes, just like AM3 can be used in AM3+ motherboards

You can put FM2 APUs in FM2+ motherboards, but you cannot put FM2+ APUs in FM2 motherboards. There are more pins in the FM2+.

Yes, of course. FM2 APUs and CPUs work in FM2 and FM2+ boards.

On topic: Linus clearly states FM2+ APUs/CPUs are not backwards compatible with FM2 motherboards, whereas FM2 APUs/CPUs will work just fine with FM2+ motherboards. (Source: AMD Kaveri Build Guide video)
