Hello LTT community!

Just want to hear inputs for this build that im going to recommend to my friend. ill be doing the overclocking hence the AIO cooler.

He needs it for light gaming (Dota 2, LoL, D3). And light video/image editing/rendering.

Total price for everything listed below is around 1,000 USD (I'm from Philippines and just did a quick conversion to USD)

Motherboard   Asus A88XM-Plus
CPU                  A10 7850K
RAM                 G.Skill Trident X Dual 2x8gb ddr3 2400
Cooler              Antec 920 kuhler H20
Casing             Cooler Master N200 Window Edition
PSU                  Corsair CX500M
Monitor            Asus IPS VX239H
HDD                  WD Caviar Green 1TB
SSD                   SanDisk Ultra Plus 256GB

Notes*

* Already considered the Intel G3258 but I can't get a cheap Z97 board here. And I'm not considering Z87 boards here cause the warranty for them are quite limited already.

* Athlon 860k is not available in my country too

* A GTX750Ti here costs around $180.

Thanks!

Drop the A10, get an A8, then save up for an R7 260X or a 750/Ti...

Change the 1TB Green to a Seagate Desktop 1TB (7200rpm)...

Also where in the Philippines? I can point you to a few of the shops that I know and trust if you're within Metro Manila...

Or stick with the A10 and OC it to 4.2GHz...

-snip-

Look at G3258's and H81/B85/H97 boards. These can be had for the $40 to $90 price range and some can have their BIOS updated to OC the G3258.

My arsenal: i7-9700k Gaming Rig, an iPhone, and Stupidity.

Mostly will be done in PCHub while im getting the RAM from other place since i can get it for like 20$ cheaper. Hmm but by doing that, the total price will increase by a 100$ (more or less)

Just checked it now and it does support it but how high can I OC with those boards?

Hmm... Have you considered going air-cooling instead?

I can get the Antec for sub 60$ and its a 240mm rad. and I'm not sure with the clearance on some air coolers.

People are getting 4.7Ghz stable clocks on the G3258's.

Even with H97/B85 boards? Hmmm. If yes then I might reconsider again
