New PC or upgrade existing?

I am trying to decide whether to build a new pc from scratch, or upgrade my existing one.

Building a new pc, i would have it to myself, seeing as my existing one must be shared by the whole family.

I use this pc for medium gaming (Minecraft, Kerbal Space Program, Portal 2, online games).

I am currently using one 1600x900 monitor, but will upgrade in the future to one 1600x900 and two 1920x1080's.

If you have the budget i suggest you build a new PC.

 

The HP case you got is horrible you won't be able to upgrade much.

DON'T REPLACE YOUR i3 WITH AN APU.

 

Harvest you RAM, CPU and motherboard from your current PC, put it in a new case with a new PSU and stick a dedicated GPU in there.

Upgrade, why waste money for a new build ? unless you're making that second PC like a streaming PC then that makes sense. But if i were you, I would just upgrade it.

Also, you should save up money, then you can spend it on better GPU or a new mobo or CPU etc.... Build it up slowly.

...I'm confused what you mean by "upgrade" then. Upgrading the GPU, case and PSU would not render it unfunctional.
