HELP overclocking went terribly wrong PLEASE HELP!!!

HI!!!

this is very urgent, all morning ive been working on overclocking my 3770k on a maximus V Formula which is now under a custom loop and so I decided to go ahead with it

Ive been using an overclocking guide on the ROG forums for my exact same setup less the custom wc loop with an h100i...Anyways I went a little to low on the voltage for the clock I was trying to pull, I was trying to get 4.7GHz and the voltage that was to low was 1.25V. Ok, now i was expecting a crash at some point, then I would have to go back up on the voltage to get my most stable clock with lowest volts. So i went back into the UEFI and but the voltage back up to 2.8v and ramped down to 4.5GHz (reallly cause I was just scared) which it was stable at. I hit F10, save, and reboot windows, but when i get back into windows ITS STILL IS AT 1.25V AND 4.7GHz! I was so stressed I went back into the UEFI and reset all the stuff to default, (by hitting F5) which it should be ramed down to 3.9GHz, yet whenever I load windows all my voltages and multiplyers are still to high and too low which causes my PC to crash whenever I play BF3 or run Prime 95.

 

Please I dont know how to fix this problem and I need sugesstions

did you try hitting the cmos reset switch on the mobo?

Are you sure about the voltages you're using. They're extremely high for the CPU. I have my 3770K at 1.35v and stable at 4.5GHz. You will defo kill your CPU if you pump that much voltage into it

well, normally you have around 1.3-1.4v on the vcore.

rofl well if you're stable at 4.7GHz with 1.25v then that should be fine, what are your temperatures?

I wouldn't even go to 1.5v without LN2.

Take the multiplier down a few notches

Download a utility from Asus and change it in Windows, MSI has one called Control Centre, I'm sure Asus has one that is similar

my CPU-z still tells me 4.7GHz when It says in bios the multiplier for ALL cores is set to 39 which is the default, I followed the guide from ASUS ROG excatly everything that needs to be is set to manual

I'd contact them for advice since you've followed their guide, other than that I don't know what to suggest, but I'd try and change the voltage/multiplier in Windows and see if that has any effect.

Why don't you just do the USB BIOS flashback thing that Asus motherboards support and start again? Safe and simple.

did i just read 2.8 volts? and update the bios , 1.27 is stable for my 3770k @ 4.7 and thry to up vrm settings so it can be more stable
