Intro: I didn't built my own PC, and today I'm a little jealous at all of those who built the PC alone, it seems pretty fun to me and a nice project to jump into.

My specs:

Intel Core i5 3470 @ 3.2 GHz
600W PSU (Unknown manufacturer)
WD Caviar Black 1TB
Kingston HyperX Blu 4GBx2
Sapphire 7950 3GB w/ Boost
GA-B75M-D3V
Samsung 120GB EVO (the only part I installed)

And the main reason why I'm considering this, my case:

TrendSonic Hummer FX, the case that no one ever heard of.

Some pictures:

And my question is: Should I upgrade my PC or get a new PC that will me give a better performance for the future as well ? and having the experience of building my PC at the same time ?

OR

Get a new case and PSU so I can re-build it and to do some cable managment ?

I mostly play CS:GO on my PC but I'm editing as well, the main reason that I don't edit much is because recording in CS:GO on this PC gets me ~25 FPS, and rendering takes plenty of time.

I live in Israel so prices here a little bit expensive, but don't make that a "game-changer".

Thanks in advance ! (Forgive me for my English).

EDIT: My budget is around 400$.

Get a new case if you don't like your current one.

You shouldn't have issues recording gameplay with your specs. What are you recording with? Settings used?

If you ever need help with a build, read the following before posting: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/3061-build-plan-thread-recommendations-please-read-before-posting/

25 FPS when recording ? Don't use FRAPS go for Action Mirrilis.

I recommend you a better PSU (optional) and a new case compatible with your SSD, otherwise your PC is just fine just please.. CLEAN IT

Edit : Wow your MOBO seems a bit light (like mine) so yeah you can change that if you want a better cpu in the future

First, thanks for the quick reply !

I'm not recording while playing, I record the demos.

But actually for now I don't having much problem recording and editing so I can ignore that for now.

Currently there is no problems with recording, I tried VirtualDub yesterday and no problems so far.

I do need to clean it and yeah, maybe I'll get a new case and PSU, depending on what will I decide.

i would sell this ugly thing and build a fresh nicely put together pc :) i think it would brighten your day

Can you explain yourself and tell why ?

You don't really need to upgrade anything, but for the love of PC god, change that PSU, ASAP :D

Actually, what's your budget and location O.o

I live in Israel (no hate please, I didn't do anything xD)

And my budget is around 400 $.

Nah the CPU is great, your mobo just seems a little cheap that's why but it's not a priority if everything is working fine, i think that a GPU upgrade would be wiser than changing the CPU

Any recommendations for the case, MOBO and GPU ?

Why would anyone hate you for being from Israel O.o You're a human, i'm a human. We're the same. It's your actions that define you, not your country, birth... :D

Don't know about the prices there, but with that money i'd:

- Get a good 650W 80+Gold PSU (if possible EVGA G2, if not get a normal 80+Bronze), so you could do a Maxwell SLI later :D

- Change that Mobo to a SLI capable one (AsRock has cheap ones)

- Buy a new case (i like Thermaltake's and Fractal Designs's cases :D)

- Save money for GTX 970 :D And then another one later :P

Lol don't worry we're not here to judge you :P

Some compatible MOBO : http://www.game-debate.com/hardware/index.php?pid=931&moboList=Core%20i5-3470%203.2GHz otherwise i don't know much about intel mobo, but for the case well it's a matter of taste but Corsair is the best when coming to high end case.

Maybe the PSU? How long have you had it for? If it's been months and there hasn't been any PSU related issue like a random shut off or smoke smell I think it's fine. If you have the money you could switch it out a reputable brand 80+ one.

I think the build is fine. 3570 is still quite powerful. Unless you upgrade to an 5930k 5820k you won't find any noticeable improvement. This upgrade will be rather expensive though.

If you upgrade your PSU, you could consider doing an overclock. 1200+ mhz on the core clock gets a 7950 to 290 level which is quite nice.

Unless there is a game you're not getting high enough FPS or want higher settings. You should wait for the R9 300 series.

I would say add more RAM. Video editing can never have enough RAM. But you're motherboard seems to have 2 slots only...

Personally don't think there is anything your build desperately need upgrading.

I wanted to provide a link but I forgot -_-

Here's the store I'm planning to buy from:

http://en.ksp.co.il

I took a loot... Other than the fact that it's hell to navigate through, i suggest:

- You get a Corsair PSU

- Case is your choice, go with what you like

- I couldn't find a x77/67 Mobo for your CPU...

Also, if you don't see the need to upgrade your PC, save money and go with Broadwell when it comes out :)

Also, check to see what brand PSU is. Maybe it's actually something good :) But if it isn't, get a new one, ASAP :D

...If you can sell it for $400 or more then at least I would do it. Save a little more money and build your very own for 1100-1200usd. It is a good time for that

If one does not fail at times, then one has not challenged himself.
