First i saw this Folding@home forum, and i thought that it would be a good idea to fold with my "superultragamingpc".
When i was not using the PC, i kept the power at Medium state, and at Low state when i was using it.

So, is everything okay? Do you have any tips for a starter?
I also posted my "superultragamingpc"'s specs in the attachment.

Only when idle - full power - should be enough, if the PC is online & running 24/7.

If it's not always on I prefer manually starting work for BOINC or Folding@Home everytime if you want to do work for it...

You are allowed to have animated avatars on LTT, but - try to have images like "userbars" in the signature - no chance...

Excels last cell is XFD1048576 and once was IV65536.

(if you want to have the most effective mousepad - use a colored matte floor tile)

I didn't understand what you mean actually. When idle i put it on Medium, i don't wanna go up to full power actually.

PC is not always on, i close it when i go to sleep, but it is open everytime in the day.

I meant - my setting would be idle at full power if the system is up 24/7 and manually starting work if it's not 24/7 up...

So I can decide to work for it if I only do webbrowsing on an 8-core, or to disable it when playing games to have more power for myself...

It's not 24/7 working, i open it manually when i open the pc.

When i am browsing or idling, i keep it at Medium, and i close it or take it down to Low (depending to the game).

Just again, most of the "reported" PPD estimates you may hear are based on 7/24 with Full - so what you are doing is fine, just it will impact your PPD.

so it's not clever to build own PCs to use for 24/7 BOINC/Folding? Assuming I'll not donate money directly to the project but my electricity bill...

it's much more "geeky" to build PCs rather than simply donating money, because we know that they use it for calculating things - not for coffee for the staff directly at the project

My friend used an old CAD-GPU-Serverrack to use with BOINC and got reported, but they released after he explained it... He used it "for fun" and to have some more "geeky" stuff...
