Hi guys, I've had my pc set up for about 4 months now, and I decided to Overclock my G3258. I have no idea what I'm doing and I didn't really want to go into the bios and do it myself because Im scared I'll break something. I had the Asus AI Suite installed from updating my bios to 2001 update which supports the g3258 on my H81M-PLUS board, and I did the AutoTune and now my G3258 is "overclocked" to 3.6GHz, but in Task manager it says Speed: 3.55GHz, Max Speed 3.20GHz and so I'm really confused. Before I used autotune I created a profile while everything was at stock settings, and now every time I click that profile it works, but when I restart it will go back to 3.6. and When I enter the Bios my mouse is stuck, and my keyboard doesnt work, so F7 wont get me into Advanced mode or anything. Im freaking out guys please help me I have no idea what Im doing wrong. PS my friend has his G3258 OC'd to 4.2 with stock cooler and told me it would be fine if I did it to 4.0GHz with the stock cooler (I am getting the Corsair H75 cooler soon) Any help would be great :)

Thanks for the fast replies, but I don't think you read what I wrote. I cant go into the Bios as my mouse wont do anything and neither will my keyboard.

did the keyboard and mouse work previously?

you got a cheap PS2 keyboard?

Yes the mouse and keyboard are working fine and they worked before. No I don't have a PS2 keyboard.

press the clear CMOS button or jumper or remove the button battery on your board

and on the keyboard press the del key the moment you power on your PC from shut down state

just curious what does that bring the clock speed to?

multiply 40 with the bus speed which is 100MHz = 4GHz
