Glossy screen

Hi guys,

So I am finally building me a new system, after many many years of gaming on the go with my laptop.

My shopping list is complete, but for the screen.

Here in Taiwan the asus rog swift is a steal at just 550$. But I am not a fan of matte screens. I am used to the shininess and color that a glossy screen renders.

But I still can not make up my mind, any input?

Ps: single 980 sc will be sufficient for the Rog? I do plan SLI once the money tree grows back.

A single 980 would work fine, and adding a 2nd in the future would be a good idea.

 

I dislike glossy screens as they tend to have a good amount of glare to them, and often I can see myself in the reflection of them when using them.

There have been more than plenty reports of people having issues with their ROG swift, so be sure to take that into account.

single 980 will power a 1440 screen pretty good

 

Asus PB278Q or Dell U2713H are good choices instead of the ROG one

 

the first batches of ROG monitor are nothing but trouble

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

The glossy coating does offer slightly better picture, but it sure is annoying when you've got a stubborn glare.

Thanks for the fast reply guys, well I always play in complete darkness. My curtains are never open. So the reflection isn't much of an hassle.

I will do more research on those mentioned thanks.

Looks like that asus is my only hope... I saw an LG ultra wide a while back but can't find it again.
