HD4600 For desktop

Yenko

Hello

Im going to build a fast desktop pc for my parents, it will not be used for gaming, only normal use of internet like youtube, netflix, and netbank.

My question is the onboard grafiks HD4600 from a I5- 4590 good enough for their use, or will a I3 and a Gtx 750 be better.

An i5-4590 with integrated graphics will be great for internet browsing and watching Netflix and stuff like that. :)

They won't need the gfx card. Intel integrated graphics do just fine for most non-graphically intensive workloads.

How about an i3 with integrated graphics? No need for an i5 or a GPU.

Yeah, 4600 is enough. I had a week without my GTX 760 and my i5 4440's onboard HD 4600 was enough to last, I even did some gaming on complete rock-bottom settings :P

Can you blame him for wanting to get some opinions on the matter?

Also, 'laptops don't have graphics' is poorly written and could be taken the wrong way. I think you meant discrete graphics.

if you're going for just igpu then any i5 will do better no need of GTX .even a 2nd of 3rd gen lowest frequency cpu with HD 4xxx will do the work fine. if you want to buy a new one for them i'll appreciate that coz giving value to mom and dad is good gesture. we spend 1000s on our PCs just for fun. spend on better casing (buy a new shiny casing ) trust me looks matter alot for parents :D that our son bought a new one for us.

CPU: i7 4790K | Ram:Corsair Vengeance 8GB | GPU: Asus R9 270 | Cooling :Corsair H100i | Storage : Intel SSD, Seagate HDDs | PSU : Corsair VS 550 | Case: CM HAF Advanced.

I will also suggest an aftermarket cooler. The CPU tends to get hotter faster when its on board graphics are being used

 eGPU Setup: Macbook Pro 13" 16GB DDR3 RAM, 512GB SSD, i5 3210M, GTX 980 eGPU

New PC: i7-4790k, Corsair H100iGTX, ASrock Fatal1ty Z97 Killer, 24GB Ram, 850 EVO 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD, GTX 1080 Fractal Design R4, EVGA Supernova G2 650W

An i3-4330 would be a better choice. As they're not going to be doing anything multithreaded and even if they were i3's have hyperthreading, and the 4330 has HD 4600.

Yes the I3-4330 could be a good choice, but the I5-4590 is only like 50-60 euros more
