hey guys,

so I have a gigabyte OC edition 260x, which I overclocked a further 4% on the gpu clock, with a 103% power limit. I was running unigene valley as my stress test, and with v-sync on, this is perfectly stable, it was running for 20 mins. Then I noticed that the fps was never going above 30 fps, and realised that vsync was on, so I turned it off. then within 53-4 mins, the app crashed.  I turned it down a bit, but still, vsync is stable, and no vsync is unstable. Any help? PS, any recommendations for a good gpu stress test if that's the problem?

Thanks.

with vsync on you get 60fps only, that doesn't push your GPU to his limit. (if your monitor refresh rate is set to 60)

without vsync the GPU reach his max performance and gets to 100+ FPS

If things that are graphically intensive crash after an overclock (unless it's known for crashing anyway) then it means you've got an unstable overclock.

With vsync on the GPU will not run at full speed, so it's pointless to use while you are verifying your OC. If it crashes with vsync off, your OC simply is not stable and you'll need back it down some.
