Braided headset cable

So I am planning on buying a new headset and I can't help but notice the norm of using braided cables. However, my experience with my friend's razer kraken 7.1 usb headset (wich has a braided cable) was a pretty bad one. Every time the cable touched or rubbed against any piece of clothing, the sound from the friction transfered through the cable to the left cup, muffling it completely. And this happened every time I moved my head. My question is, is this something that happens with all headsets with a braided cable or was razer just using cheap materials?

Thanks in advance!

I (unfortunately) used a Razer Kraken Pro, it has a non-braided cable and it had no issues. So if you're looking for something without a braid you can look there. I personally didn't like it though.

I have braided cable on my V-Moda M-100's, these are removable cables which might make a difference but they do NOT interfere with my sound in any way. So I'd say look at the specific pair that you are interested in and read full reviews to pick up on potential problems.

Well that has absolutely nothing at all to do with braided cables x3

Many headphones have non-braided cables.

I DIY my own braided cable, 4 cables braid. None of the problem you're asking. I can slap around the cable, and still can't hear anything from that.
