X51 Help - 750 GTX and Bios (A03) HELP NEEDED

Go to solution Solved by TheSLSAMG,

You can't create a recovery, but I don't see why you couldn't just go from A03 to A14 with no inbetween.

I have had an Alienware x51 for so long now, the R1 and i wish to upgrade the GPU (555 gtx) to a EVGA 750 GTX 1GB.

The x51 is the 330W one, with 8GB RAM and Intel core 2320

However, i have read that i would need to update my dell bios - currently A03 to something like A14.

I have several questions -

Will i need to update the bios for the card?

If so, how can i update the bios SAFETY? (with newbie tips, as i'm not really a pc pro)

I've heard i need to go A03 -> A06 -> A12 -> A13 -> A14. But i fear the chance of "bricking".

My last question is, how can i create a recovery if i do accidently brick my mobo..

I do not fully understand these terms as i am a newbie :S

This is the 5th place i have come to try find answers in the past 4 days, i would love some help ^^
