I bought a pre-built HP Pavilion HPE h8-1030d about 3-4 years ago

I want to upgrade it to be able to run modded skyrim (enb, script-intensives, hd textures) at 45+ FPS

It currently runs at 15 fps (enb, ultra, no HD texture)

This is the current specification

Motherboard: Pegatron's Corporation 2AB6
Processor: Intel core I7 2600 3.4 GHz (up to 3.8 turbo) 4 Cores
Memory: 8GB DDR3 1333 MHz
Graphic: AMD Radeon HD 6770 1GB (My computer said it's 5700 for some reason, but I don't really know anything about this)
Storage: 2TB SATA 7200RPM
Power Supply: internal atx 460W
Case: mid size ATX
Monitor: 1 1080p
What should I upgrade (or what can I actually upgrade?) I don't aim for overkill, but I am willing save up money for a decent components so don't worry about the cost too much.

if you chuck that mobo send it to my friend he has the pegatron II and i make fun of him constantly for his "beastly" mobo

anyway, imo, you should keep your ram, case, monitor, and 2tb drive for your build

I really wouldn't suggest upgrading your CPU its already as good an the new unlocked i5 4690k....so what you are actually looking at at the moment is upgrading your graphics card and power supply adding an ssd is always an option too. 500 dollars and in Thailand... here are some options for you let us know what the prices are like over there though

r9 290x or gtx 970 are good high end gpu options

an 80+ 500 watt or better PSU

mx100  SSD

pc on those and see what you think...yes those graphics cards are beastly.

here, The 970 cost around $430 and the 290x cost around $630

I plan to order from singapore though, as it seems like it would be cheaper even with shipping cost

oh geez heart attack....expensive gpus especially that 290x

the 970 will do extremely nicely though, i'd recommend spending the rest of your budget on a good power supply now 80+ certified and 500+ watts is what you're looking for (worry about ssd later its not essential)

The sites don't use dollars. What's your actual budget?

Thanks for the help

quick question: does changing to 970 requires a better cooling? I just have a normal stock cooler and 1 case fan

Getting better cooling would be recommended but maybe not required.

What case do you have?

You should definitely get a better case considering your current one likely won't fit any decently sized graphics card.

My recommendations from TheSystem: Seasonic m12ii 520, Cooler Master N200, HIS iPower IceQ2 290. Add a 120mm Aerocool DS fan for front intake.
