It has a sandforce controller, uses MLC flash and the price is good. Any thoughts on it? I need a cheap SSD for someone.

I agree with tedster its not a well known brand I'd personally go with something a bit more well known with at least a 3 year warrenty.

It has a 5 year warranty.

Don't know who makes it, Silicon Power looks to be a 3rd or even 4th tier marketing company at best. Very much into foreign markets not North America. I would say that support is weak. Definitely off brand.

OTOH, the price is fantastic. These things have had the bugs worked out and I can't say that any are much superior over the other which is why Intel is having trouble. I would pick these over a Kingston V300. If you're going to pull the trigger because of the price, do it fast. NCIX doesn't have many, they're all in Richmond and they'll sell quick. Be prepared to wait a while for them to ship.

Sir William of Orange: Corsair 230T - Rebel Orange, 4690K, GA-97X SOC, 16gb Dom Plats 1866C9,  2 MX100 256gb, Seagate 2tb Desktop, EVGA Supernova 750-G2, Be Quiet! Dark Rock 3, DK 9008 keyboard, Pioneer BR drive. Yeah, on board graphics - deal with it!

I would not buy the s70 because from the reviews on amazon.com of people saying they got the "bait and switch" versions.

A water-cooled mid-tier gaming PC.
