Headphones wont work in left hand side

IamPaddy

I bought a new pair of headphones, sennheisers hd 439, they worked perfectly on my phone(for a while) but would cut in and out on the left hand side, yet so did my other headphones. I then tried this on my computer. My Hd 439's worked properly for half an hour then the left hand side stopped working, I switched to my other headphones and the same thing happened.

PLEASE HELP!-

Intel i5-4670K, Asus Maximus VII (z97), 16gb Kingston, Asus Gtx 780, Fractal Design Define Mini, 250Gb Samsung Evo, Corsair CS650M

This is definelty odd....if it was just your phone i would say maybe the mini jack has some lint or gunk in it causing problems...but it also is happening on your laptop so thats definetly interesting.....especially considering it is doing it with 2 different headphones... I might get some air duster and try to clear out any gunk that may be in the audio jacks on your laptop and phone..If that doesnt work i would try bending the cables at different points to see if there is a short somewhere in them (usually this happens right by where the 3.5mm jack is, this can happen if you bend the cables really sharply...
